HOW BUSINESS PAYMENTS WORK
A clear process from onboarding to payment
1. Register your business
Provide information about your company or organisation and the people authorised to act on its behalf.
2. Complete business verification
We may ask for information and supporting documents relating to the business, its ownership, management and authorised persons.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Company registration information
- Registered and operating address
- Business activities
- Directors
- Shareholders
- Beneficial owners
- Controllers
- Authorised representatives or signatories
- Evidence of authority to act
- Purpose and intended nature of the relationship
- Expected transaction activity
Additional information may be required depending on the business, transaction, jurisdictions involved and applicable legal or risk requirements.
3. Request a transaction
Provide the amount, currencies, recipient details, payment purpose and other information required for the proposed payment or foreign exchange transaction.
4. Review your quote
Before submitting the instruction, review the transaction-specific information provided to you, which may include:
- Source amount
- Exchange rate
- Converted amount
- Applicable Briana fee
- Known third-party charges
- Recipient amount or expected recipient amount
- Quote validity period
5. Submit the order
An authorised person may submit the instruction for Briana to assess.
A submitted order does not by itself create a binding transaction. A transaction becomes binding only after Briana accepts the order and issues a Transaction Confirmation.
6. Transaction processing
Once accepted, the transaction will be processed using the applicable payment route, subject to funding, verification, compliance and operational requirements.
BUSINESS FOREIGN EXCHANGE
Clear foreign exchange for eligible business transactions
Exchange rates can change and may vary according to factors such as:
- Currency pair
- Transaction amount
- Payment route
- Timing
- Market conditions
- Transaction characteristics
For an eligible currency conversion, Briana provides a transaction-specific quote before the order is submitted.
Briana may earn revenue through the foreign exchange spread or margin incorporated into the Customer Rate.
A separate Briana fee applies only where it is expressly shown in the quote.
Where known third-party charges apply, relevant information will be shown before authorisation where available.
BUSINESS VERIFICATION
Why we verify businesses and their owners
Business verification helps us understand who we are providing services to, who owns or controls the business and who is authorised to act on its behalf.
Depending on the customer and circumstances, Briana may identify and verify:
- The business or legal entity
- Directors
- Beneficial owners
- Controllers
- Shareholders
- Partners or trustees where applicable
- Authorised representatives
- Account signatories
- Other persons connected with the business or transaction
We may also request information regarding:
- Business activities
- Ownership and control structure
- Purpose of the relationship
- Expected transaction activity
- Source of funds
- Source of wealth where appropriate
- Payment purpose
- Recipient or counterparty
- Countries involved
Information may need to be updated during the business relationship where circumstances change or further verification is required.
AUTHORISED BUSINESS USERS
Payments made by the right people
Where a person acts on behalf of a company, partnership, trust or other organisation, Briana may require evidence that the person has appropriate authority to:
- Represent the business
- Provide information
- Request quotes
- Submit payment instructions
- Provide funding information
- Communicate with Briana about transactions
Businesses are responsible for keeping authorised-person and ownership information accurate and up to date.
If there is a material change to ownership, management, authority or business activity, we may ask for updated information before continuing to provide services.
TRANSACTION REVIEW & COMPLIANCE
Responsible payment processing
Business transactions may be subject to review in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual and risk requirements.
Briana may carry out checks relating to:

We may review the business, beneficial owners, transaction activity, payment purpose and source of funds as appropriate.

Customers, beneficial owners, authorised persons, recipients, counterparties and transactions may be screened where appropriate.

Transactions may be reviewed where information, payment instructions or activity indicate potential fraud, misuse or security concerns.

We may request additional information regarding the payment purpose, recipient, underlying transaction, source of funds, countries involved or supporting documents.
Where permitted or required, a transaction may be delayed, restricted or declined while relevant matters are reviewed.
BUSINESS PAYMENT SECURITY
Verify before you send
Business-payment fraud can involve compromised email accounts, altered invoices, impersonation or unexpected changes to beneficiary details.
Before authorising a payment:
- Check recipient information carefully
- Independently verify new or changed payment instructions
- Use trusted contact details rather than information contained only in an unexpected message
- Protect passwords, authentication credentials and authorised-user access
- Contact Briana promptly if you suspect fraud or an unauthorised instruction
Requests to recall or recover a payment are not guaranteed to succeed, particularly after funds have been credited or moved onward.
SERVICE AVAILABILITY
Business services depend on the transaction
Availability of a particular payment or foreign exchange service may depend on factors including:
- Customer eligibility
- Business type and activity
- Verification requirements
- Currency and destination
- Recipient or counterparty information
- Payment-route availability
- Transaction purpose
- AML/CFT requirements
- Sanctions considerations
- Fraud and security controls
- Third-party payment-provider requirements
Briana may impose transaction limits or other conditions where appropriate.
