Pricing & FX

Clear pricing before you proceed

At Briana Payments, we aim to make the key costs and foreign exchange information for your transaction clear before you submit an Order. For eligible foreign exchange and money-transfer transactions, you will receive a transaction-specific quote showing the relevant rate, amounts and applicable charges. There is no hidden Briana fees added after you accept the quote.

HOW OUR PRICING WORKS

Transaction-specific pricing

Pricing may vary depending on factors such as:

  • Currency pair
  • Transaction amount
  • Payment route
  • Timing
  • Market conditions
  • Destination
  • Other transaction characteristics

The rate and pricing that apply to your transaction are the ones shown in the quote provided to you for that transaction.

A rate displayed on another website, market-data provider, bank or comparison service may differ from the rate Briana offers.

S/02

FOREIGN EXCHANGE RATES

Understanding your exchange rate

For a currency conversion, Briana will provide a Customer Rate for the relevant transaction.

The Customer Rate is the exchange rate offered to you and used to calculate the converted amount if:

  • You accept the quote while it is still valid; and
  • Any stated conditions for the quote are met.

Where a Reference Market Rate is shown, it is used as a pricing benchmark for comparison purposes.

A Reference Market Rate is not necessarily:

  • A central-bank rate
  • An online rate-provider rate
  • An interbank rate
  • A rate that is directly available to you

The Customer Rate offered by Briana may therefore differ from other rates you see elsewhere.

S/03

FX SPREAD OR MARGIN

How Briana may earn revenue from foreign exchange

For foreign exchange transactions, Briana may earn revenue through the FX spread or margin incorporated into the Customer Rate.

The FX spread or margin is the difference, if any, between the Reference Market Rate and the Customer Rate, using the same currency-pair direction and transaction basis.

It forms part of the rate offered to you.

It is not an additional amount added after you accept your quote.

Where a Reference Market Rate is shown, Briana may provide a rate comparison to help you understand the pricing of the transaction.

S/04

BRIANA FEES

A separate fee only where it is shown

For Briana's core foreign exchange and remittance services, a separate Briana transaction fee will apply only where the transaction quote expressly states that a fee applies.

If no separate Briana fee applies, the quote will show the Briana Fee as zero.

Where a Briana fee does apply, the quote will show:

  • The amount
  • The currency
  • How it applies to the transaction

You can review this information before submitting your Order.

S/05

WHAT YOUR QUOTE MAY SHOW

Review the transaction details before authorisation

Before asking you to submit an Order, the applicable quote may include the following information:

Source Amount - The amount you ask us to convert or send.

Source Currency - The currency in which you provide the funds.

Destination Currency - The currency to be converted, sent or made available to the recipient.

Customer Rate - The exchange rate offered to you for the transaction.

Reference Market Rate - A pricing benchmark used for comparison where one is shown.

Quote Expiry - The date and time by which the quote must be accepted, together with any stated conditions.

Gross Converted Amount - The destination-currency amount calculated using the Customer Rate before applicable deductions from the transfer proceeds.

Briana Fee - The separate Briana fee, if any.

Where no separate Briana fee applies, the quote will show a zero amount.

Known Third-Party Charges - Charges known to Briana at the time the quote is prepared that may be imposed by a payment provider, correspondent, intermediary or receiving institution.

Total Payable - The total amount payable to Briana for the transaction, including the Source Amount and any charges payable through Briana that are shown in the quote.

Recipient Amount - The amount expected or guaranteed to be made available to the recipient, as stated in the quote.

S/06

THIRD-PARTY CHARGES

Some charges may come from other payment participants

A payment may pass through banks, payment providers, correspondent institutions, intermediaries or receiving institutions.

These organisations may apply their own charges or deductions.

Where a third-party charge is known to Briana when the quote is prepared, we will show the relevant information in the quote.

However, some third-party charges may only become known after the payment has been sent.

Where this happens:

  • The final amount received by the recipient may be lower than the Gross Converted Amount; and
  • The amount shown before the transaction may be described as expected rather than guaranteed.

Briana does not represent an expected recipient amount as guaranteed unless the quote expressly states that it is guaranteed.

S/07

RECIPIENT AMOUNTS

Expected and guaranteed amounts

Your quote will indicate whether the amount to be received by the recipient is:

Guaranteed

The quoted recipient amount is guaranteed only where the quote expressly states that it is guaranteed.

Expected

An expected recipient amount is an estimate and may be affected by charges or deductions that were not known when the quote was prepared.

We will provide information available to us before you authorise the transaction so that you can understand the position for the selected payment route.

S/08

DOMESTIC SAME-CURRENCY TRANSFERS

No foreign exchange where no currency conversion takes place

If a transaction is identified as a domestic same-currency transfer and no currency conversion takes place:

  • No foreign exchange rate applies
  • No FX margin applies

The quote will instead show the relevant payment amount and any applicable:

  • Briana Fee
  • Known third-party charge
  • Total Payable
  • Recipient-amount status

Third-party charges or receiving-institution deductions may still apply depending on the payment route.

S/09

QUOTE VALIDITY

Exchange rates can change

Foreign exchange markets can move quickly.

Each transaction quote is available only until the expiry date and time shown in the quote and may be subject to stated conditions.

If the quote expires, or the transaction cannot proceed on the quoted terms, Briana will not complete the transaction using a changed exchange rate or changed stated charges without providing a new or revised quote for you to review and accept.

If you do not accept the new quote, the transaction will not proceed on those changed terms.

S/10

CANCELLATIONS, RECALLS & RETURNS

Costs can depend on what has already happened to the payment

You may ask Briana to cancel a transaction or, where the payment has already been sent, to attempt a recall.

Cancellation or recall may not always be possible.

A cancellation, recall, failed payment or returned transfer may involve:

  • A Briana Fee where that fee has been disclosed
  • Third-party charges
  • Correspondent or intermediary charges
  • Receiving-institution charges
  • Currency conversion or reconversion
  • Exchange-rate movements

A returned amount may therefore differ from the amount originally provided.

Where a new currency conversion is required before a refund can be made, Briana will provide the relevant exchange-rate quote before using that new rate.

S/11

TRANSPARENCY THROUGHOUT THE TRANSACTION

What you see is what you review before you decide

Our pricing approach is designed so that you can review the key commercial information relevant to the transaction before submitting your Order.Depending on the transaction, this may include:

  • The amount you are sending
  • The currencies involved
  • The Customer Rate
  • A Reference Market Rate where applicable
  • The FX spread or margin comparison where applicable
  • Any Briana Fee
  • Known third-party charges
  • The Total Payable
  • Recipient-amount status
  • Quote expiry

Your acceptance of the quote and submission of the related instruction creates an Order for Briana to assess.

A binding Transaction is formed only when Briana accepts the Order and issues a Transaction Confirmation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does Briana charge a transaction fee?

A separate Briana transaction fee applies only where it is expressly shown in your quote.

Where no separate Briana fee applies, the quote will show that fee as zero.

How does Briana earn revenue from foreign exchange?

Briana may earn revenue through the FX spread or margin incorporated into the Customer Rate.

Will I see the exchange rate before I proceed?

Yes. For an applicable foreign exchange transaction, the Customer Rate is shown in your transaction-specific quote before you submit the Order.

Is the rate on the Briana website the rate I will receive?

Any general or indicative rate shown outside a transaction quote should not be treated as the final rate for a transaction.

The Customer Rate shown in the valid transaction-specific quote is the rate offered for that transaction, subject to the stated conditions.

Can third parties deduct charges?

Yes.

Banks, correspondents, intermediaries, payment providers or receiving institutions may impose charges.

Where those charges are known to Briana when the quote is prepared, we will show the relevant information.

Other charges may not be known in advance.

Will the recipient always receive the exact amount shown?

Only where the quote expressly states that the recipient amount is guaranteed.

If the recipient amount is described as expected, it is an estimate and may be affected by unknown third-party deductions.

What happens if my quote expires?

If your quote expires, Briana may provide you with a new or revised quote.

You will have the opportunity to review and accept the new terms before the transaction proceeds on those changed terms.

Can I cancel a transaction?

You can ask us to cancel a transaction.

Whether cancellation is possible depends on the stage of processing and the relevant payment route.

Once a payment has been executed or entered a payment system, cancellation may no longer be possible.

A recall may be attempted where available, but recovery of funds is not guaranteed.
